Why Solid-State Fermentation (SSF) Matters for Metarhizium

In nature, Metarhizium works when a larva comes in contact with its dormant spores. With the right humidity, moisture, and nutrients from the host insect, the fungus multiplies inside and kills it – nature’s own pest control system.

But years of chemical and pesticide use have reduced their natural count in the soil, which is why we need to reintroduce them. To keep the same virulence and effectiveness, we reisolated Metarhizium from an infected cadaver and grew it in lab conditions that mimic nature – something only SSF (solid-state fermentation) can truly achieve.
