Verticillium lecanii Based Bioinsecticide
Biological control for sucking insect pests and soft-bodied insects
Vertinelix® is a Verticillium lecanii-based bioinsecticide developed for effective biological management of sucking pests and soft-bodied insects in agricultural and horticultural crops. The naturally occurring entomopathogenic fungus infects insect pests through direct contact and provides eco-friendly, residue-free pest suppression.
The fungal spores attach to the insect body, germinate under favorable humidity conditions, penetrate the insect cuticle, and multiply internally, eventually causing insect mortality. Vertinelix® is highly effective against whiteflies, aphids, thrips, scales, and related sucking pests in greenhouse and open-field conditions.
Spore Attachment & Germination
The fungal spores attach to the insect cuticle and germinate under suitable environmental conditions.
Cuticle Penetration
The germinating fungal hyphae penetrate the insect body through the cuticle using enzymatic activity.
Internal Colonization
After entering the insect body, the fungus multiplies internally and consumes insect tissues and nutrients.
Toxin & Enzyme Activity
Vertinelix® produces fungal metabolites and enzymes that weaken the insect host and support rapid insect mortality.
Secondary Spread
Following insect death, new fungal spores develop externally and spread naturally within the crop environment, helping suppress pest populations.
| Parameter | Specification |

| Active Ingredient | Verticillium lecanii Spores |
| Formulation | Wettable Powder (WP) |
| Concentration | Minimum 2 × 10⁸ CFU/g |
| Recommended Dose | 2–4 kg per acre |

Foliar Application
Apply 1–2 g per litre of water during early pest population stages as foliar spray. Repeat applications at 5–10 day intervals for effective pest suppression.
Under heavy pest pressure, shorter application intervals (2–5 days) or initial knockdown treatment may be required for satisfactory control.
Soil Application
Apply 2–4 kg per acre mixed with well-decomposed FYM or organic manure near the root zone where required.
Drip / Soil Drench Application
Apply through drip irrigation or soil drenching during moist soil conditions for better fungal establishment.
Application Conditions
Best results are obtained under humid environmental conditions favorable for fungal germination and infection.
Integrated Use
Suitable for integrated pest management (IPM) and compatible with most biological crop protection programs.
